“Bind my wandering heart to Thee”. I have said these words, sung these words and often quoted these words. But it wasn’t until I actually saw my heart wandering that I learned what it truly meant.

I repeated the words in my head and tears welled up in my eyes. Gosh, that’s me.

When the doubts of who You are fill my mind, Lord, Bind my wandering heart to Thee.

When I don't know which direction to go, Bind my wandering heart to Thee.

When I’ve lost every ounce of confidence in everyone around me, Bind my wandering heart to Thee.

When waiting on You feels too hard, Bind my wandering heart to Thee.

When I lack knowing my own worth, Bind my wandering heart to Thee.

When my disappointments feel bigger than my hopes and dreams, Bind my wandering heart to Thee.

This filthy, wandering heart.

It’s Yours, Lord.

It’s been broken and tattered and torn and wicked and worn, but yet it’s all You ask for.

So admist the distractions and the noise of this life I’ve been given, I’ll wake up daily and continually bind my heart to Thee.
